The 12i Series elevates the visual appeal of the original DIAMOND range with richer, more luxurious finishes that match their refined acoustic performance. These enhancements ensure the DIAMOND 12 3Di looks as premium as it sounds.

Enhanced Internal Tuning

Wharfedale’s engineering team applied advanced testing and analysis—including laser interferometry, anechoic measurement, and computational fluid dynamics—to refine port behaviour and internal damping across the series. Though the 3Di uses a closed-box design, these broader improvements influence overall system integration and tonal balance, resulting in cleaner mids, smoother transitions, and better real-world performance.

Klarity™ Cone Technology

The DIAMOND 12 3Di uses a 100mm Klarity™ mid/bass cone made from a polypropylene and mica blend. The result is a lightweight yet rigid diaphragm with low distortion and excellent dynamic expression—ideal for surround and height-channel duties.

Advanced Motor System

A precisely engineered magnet assembly with an aluminium compensation ring reduces inductance variation and distortion. Combined with an epoxy/glass fibre bobbin, the design improves power handling, stability, and fidelity in demanding home cinema setups.

25mm Textile Dome Tweeter

A woven polyester dome with high-loss damping produces clean, extended treble. Its minimal-waveguide faceplate ensures excellent dispersion, allowing the 3Di to deliver consistent clarity whether used as an Atmos height module or rear surround.

Sophisticated Crossover Design

Using Linkwitz-Riley topology and high-grade inductors, the crossover ensures smooth driver integration with minimal phase shift. This contributes to precise spatial cues—critical for immersive surround and object-based audio.

Low-Resonance Cabinet

A multi-layered composite cabinet with computer-modelled internal bracing reduces unwanted vibration. This leads to a cleaner, more controlled sonic presentation, especially important for effects channels where clarity and localisation matter.
