Key Features
Audioengine S8 Subwoofer provides great bass performance for music, movies, and games and delivers low, tight and smooth bass.
Complete Control
An ideal bass extension for Audioengine powered speakers or as an upgrade to any audio system. The S8 incorporates an 8" custom woofer and is compact enough to position in a corner or behind furniture. Bass performance is low, tight, and even and guaranteed to blend well with other speakers in your system.
Set up in seconds
Twin audio inputs are supplied on the rear panel so linking S8 to all your equipment is easy. An auto-sleep standby function switches the S8 Subwoofer off when music is not being played.
8" Custom Woofer
S8 Subwoofer has an ultra-fast woofer designed for audio and home theater performance. It features an anti-resonant steel frame and heavy-duty rubber speaker surround for exact low end.The S8’s bottom-firing and front-ported design means you’ll get rapid, precise bass with no distortion even at higher volume levels. S8 is smooth and natural-sounding subwoofer.
Wireless Ready
If you want to place the Audioengine S8 away from your powered speakers or AV receiver, you can use the Audioengine W3 Wireless Audio Adapter for top-quality wireless.
Variable Crossover
The crossover is a variable LPF which adjusts how high the S8 plays. Unless the subwoofer is very distant, you can typically leave the phase switch set to 0°. Audioengine powered speakers have fixed passive crossovers designed for them so they play the frequency range such as S8 will pick up where the speakers leave off, extending the low end response.
Volume Control
Many of Audioengine's powered speakers have variable RCA outputs which the S8 subwoofer connects to. The level of the speaker and RCA output increases and decreases together. Simply dial in the volume of the S8, then adjust the volume from the speakers, or your source device. Either way the subwoofer and speakers should stay in balance as the volume is raised and lowered.
