The Rega Nd9 Reference is a high-performance Moving Magnet cartridge developed using knowledge gained from Rega's acclaimed Aphelion 2 Moving Coil design. Featuring a hand-assembled construction, Boron cantilever, and Fine Line nude diamond stylus, the Nd9 delivers exceptional detail retrieval and musical engagement at the MM level.
At its heart is a miniaturised parallel coil assembly wound with ultra-fine 38-micron wire — 1,275 turns per channel — housed in a rigid PPS glass-filled body with a distinctive amber window. The cartridge uses a Neodymium N55 magnet, one of the strongest grades available, yielding an impressive output of 5–6mV.
Designed exclusively for Rega's 3-point fixing system, the Nd9 is optimised for use with Rega tonearms and turntables, making it an ideal upgrade for owners of Planar and P-series decks seeking a significant step up in cartridge performance.
