A Legacy, Refined

When Ruark launched the original Talisman in 1990, it was the antithesis of the plain, rectangular speakers that dominated the market. That slim silhouette and sloped baffle made people fall in love before they'd even heard a note. Talisman-R carries that connection forward — the lineage is clear, but every detail has been reviewed and enhanced with the benefit of 35 years of loudspeaker engineering.

Natural, Pure Sound

Like the original, Talisman-R is a high-quality two-way, bass-reflex design with a preference for natural driver materials. A custom-designed 165mm long-throw NS+ woofer with treated fibre cone pairs with a 27mm silk dome tweeter with neodymium motor. The drivers are unified via a carefully optimised crossover — premium audio film capacitors, low-loss inductors and meticulous attention to phase integration — for a lifelike stereo soundstage that is natural, engaging and pure.

Decoupled Baffle Technology

In any loudspeaker, as much energy is transferred back into the cabinet as is projected forward. Talisman-R addresses this with a decoupled baffle system: visible bolts secure the baffle via elastomer bushes and a dual damping strip, preventing driver vibration from passing into the main cabinet. Inside, precision bracing and compound wadding absorb energy across a broad frequency range, controlling internal standing waves. The result is an enclosure with exceptionally low colouration — clean, natural, and pure.

Built to Last, Built to Stand

Talisman-R's form is inherently stable, but a machined solid steel plinth at the base lowers the centre of gravity further and provides threads for the supplied adjustable rubber feet and carpet spikes. From the front, this creates an attractive floating appearance. Both finishes feature a Charcoal cabinet with a mottled fabric grille — differentiated by either a Fused Walnut veneer baffle or a Satin Charcoal lacquer baffle.
