The Wharfedale NOVA 12 is a 12-inch active subwoofer for larger rooms and systems that demand greater low-frequency scale, for both music and home cinema. Combining a 300mm long-throw driver with a 300mm down-firing Auxiliary Bass Radiator, Class-D power and DSP control, it reaches down to 28Hz while keeping the speed and articulation that two-channel music demands.

Greater Low-Frequency Scale

A down-firing, mass-loaded Auxiliary Bass Radiator with dual-suspension design works with the active driver in place of a conventional reflex port. The result is deeper bass from a compact enclosure, with none of the turbulence, chuffing or resonance a port can introduce.

Balanced Bass at All Volumes

Real-time DSP with Dynamic EQ adjusts bass output relative to input level, keeping low-frequency extension consistent across listening levels and source material.

From Music to Cinema

Two DSP modes are built in. Music mode prioritises speed, definition and integration with your main speakers, while Movie mode adds weight, scale and impact for film soundtracks.

Control at Greater Scale

Aluminium shorting rings in the motor system reduce inductance changes as the voice coil moves, improving linearity and transient response while reducing distortion, which is crucial for keeping a larger driver tight and controlled.

Power with Precision

A high-current Class-D amplifier rated at 280W nominal and 770W peak keeps the 300mm driver firmly under control, with plenty of headroom for dynamic musical passages and big movie effects.

Flexible Integration

Adjustable crossover, phase and level controls let you match the NOVA 12 to your speakers, listening position and room. Stereo line-level inputs with LFE support, plus speaker-level connections, make it equally at home with an AV receiver or a traditional stereo amplifier. A 12V trigger and USB update port are also included.
